Cold Outreach Report
Message Type: Twitter/X Direct Message

Hi [Name], quick question: Are there any data or mapping tools that you would like to see built for #natgas?

I'm a software developer looking to build tools for the oil & gas industry (things like centralized info postings, a FERC filing database, interactive EIA reports, interactive BHI rig reports, etc.)

I saw your #natgas and #oil posts and wanted to see if there was any public data you wish you could access easier?

User responded and asked what kind of tools do I build.

I responded with:

This is very, very early but the site where I'm building my oil & gas tools is PipeRiv (the first thing I started building is a centralized info postings tool that will pull in the data from the different pipelines and make it much easier to navigate and work with) (right now it pulls in the data remotely and converts the maintenance excel file to a web page - I have a LOT more work to do with this):
https://piperiv.com

An example of a more completed tool that I have built is:
https://metricriv.com

I've been a full time independent developer for 15+ years so I can build just about anything.

Do you have any recommendations on something that would help you (any public data sources that you spend a lot of time on but it's pain to access)?

User then responded with:
> Predictive analyses on nat gas price for day, week, month and year

I responded with:

Interesting, OK, what I could do is track different indicators that factor into nat gas price and say "This indicator is up", "This one is down".

Would that be useful? If so, what are the three most important indicators that you look at when doing predictive analysis of nat gas? (I realize this is very confidential for a lot of people so if you would prefer not to share, no problem).

User then responded with a link to a tool they built in another industry and offered me an affiliate opportunity. I'm guessing they weren't that interested in natural gas tools.

I responded with:

That looks like an interesting tool, I don't have any potential clients to send. Thanks for the offer.
